On July 25th, French President Emmanuel Macron will host a summit at the Louvre with the IOC on
the topic of "The future of sport in a sustainable environment", with a focus on the young power
of sport. The number of delegations scheduled to attend the summit is not yet known, but a
number of leaders of international organizations, such as sports organizations and NGOs, are
already expected to attend.
On the evening of July 26, 2024, the Opening Ceremony will be held on the 6-kilometer-long
Seine River course and areas along it. [1-2] The athletes' entrance will take place on the Seine,
with some 10,500 athletes aboard more than 160 boats, [1] Each national delegation's boat is
equipped with a camera, allowing television viewers around the world to observe the athletes' every
move up close and personal。
As envisioned by the Paris Olympic Organizing Committee, the Opening Ceremony will kick off
slowly along the Seine River in the light of the setting sun. Athletes will be transported by boat
from the Pont d'Austerlitz from east to west, sailing 6 kilometers to the Place du Trocadéro, across
the river from the Eiffel Tower, where they will take part in the ceremonies.
