On July 23, 2024, French President Emmanuel Macron said in a media interview that the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics will be held on the Seine River as planned. This was the first time in modern Olympic history that the opening ceremony had been moved from a stadium to an open urban space [30]. Prior to the opening ceremony, the 142nd plenary session of the IOC was devoted to revising the Olympic Charter, which required that the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games be held in the "Olympic Stadium", while the revised expression was changed to "opening ceremony venue". The IOC said that this amendment is to make the choice of venue for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games more flexible. This also means that there will be more room for creativity and presentation in the future Olympic Opening Ceremony.
